Character Clicks

A new offering at select Disney Resorts to take a photo with some of your favorite Disney characters.

The PhotoPass team reached out to our team to create a two part video series that would live in the My Disney Experience app. The partnership between Disney and AT&T was to create a photo kiosk that Guest could interact with and take home a memorable keepsake.

My role for this project was videographer and assistant motion designer. I was not the primary editor for these two videos. The primary editor for this video was my teammate Coral. She also filmed alongside with me and created the motion graphics. I was there to assist her with any motion graphics questions or issues she encountered. Filming in the studio and on location at the All-Star Resort was a great experience and one that had many challenges. In the studio our team had to keep a small footprint while the recording of the characters was happening. We also needed to keep most of the set and lighting in our frame since our video would serve as a “behind the scenes” and adding those elements into the shot would give the viewer more context. We filmed the interviews in the same location the characters would be filmed to create a sense of unity. Filming at the All-Star Resort was an early morning shoot so we could have the kiosk to ourselves without Guest interruptions. We found out that most of the lighting in the lobby was natural and came in from sky lights in the ceiling and were worried it might not look good on camera. Luckily everything went smoothly and turned out great!
