Disney Annual Passholder
Three explainer videos for all things new for Passholders.
Scope: Our Annual Passholder partners came to our team with a request to deliver several new videos for the Annual Passholder Buzz section on the My Disney Experience app. The first video is a welcome video that introduces Passholders to the all-new Buzz UI so they can know where to access things like discounts, special events and more! The second video is to help explain the new “good-to-go days” that Guest would see when booking a theme park reservation. The last video goes more in-depth to explain other topics like setting up Disney MagicMobile pass, push notifications and more.
Role: I was assigned as lead motion designer for all three of these videos. Working with my creative director and Disney partners, we were able to come up with the explainer style video you see below. Since the good-to-go days concept would be new to so many Guests, we took a simplified approach with the video by boiling it down into 3 easy steps (to not overwhelm Guest with all the information). To keep all the videos looking unique from one another, we played around with different styles of organizing the information. The welcome video has title cards that separate the various sections, while the tips & tools video has header graphics. We went with the header graphics because there was so much information to cover and we didn’t want to add extra length to the video by introducing title cards between each section. The assets came from an established Annual Passholder style guide, and then Jacob on my team assembled the storyboards and laid out the designs. Some of the Mickey animations were also animated by Jacob and my creative director, CL.
